  • Holey Moley!

Has it seriously been almost 2 months since I last posted? I know I’ve neglected my site, but I didn’t think it had been that long.

Well as most of you know, I had the baby (Jude) on January 20th  just 3 days prior  to my due date. So, as you can imagine my time has been pretty full keeping up with both boy’s. All in all it has been great! I couldn’t have asked for a more content baby. Now Noah on the other hand has been a handful, but that’s nothing new!  The nursing’s going SO much better this time around which I’m so grateful for. I had a really hard time with Noah and never had enough to give him, so I spent a lot of time supplementing. With Jude I haven’t had to supplement once. He’s also a great sleeper going 5 hours for me during the night, which has really helped me out with getting some much needed rest. Last week I started working out again on my treadmill….ugh! I’ve been taking it really slow just walking at a fast pace right now for 2 miles. My goal is to run a full mile by the end of the month. I know it doesn’t seem like a big step, but I’m really out of shape and if I succeed before then, then of course I’ll start shooting for 1-1/2 or 2. I’m also shooting to lose 20 pounds by June 1st , which doesn’t seem too out there, but a challenge for me nonetheless.
As for the family as a whole, we seem to be adapting to being a family of four in taking it easy. The weather is getting warmer which has given us a few opportunities to get outside, which Noah loves! We can’t wait for spring/summer to get here. This winter has been pretty brutal. Well that is all I have for now. I will try to do my best in posting weekly again….instead of monthly-ish.

  • Single digits!

Well I knew it would get here eventually...and here I am just 9 days away from my due date! Thankfully the second time around goes twice as fast as the first, plus when you mix all the holidays in there a wedding and traveling it really goes fast.
I’ve been spending a good portion of my time tackling a major list of organization/cleaning these past few days. The weather this week alone is pretty crazy with a huge winter advisory coming thru. So as you can imagine it has been snowing consistently since I woke up this morning; and tomorrow we will have a possible record low of 1 degree with a wind chill in the negative teens! With all that said we haven’t really been out much this week besides a doctor’s appointment and ultrasound. My doctor’s office finally purchased the 4D ultrasound equipment just this week and I happened to be a good candidate since I’m so far along in my pregnancy. Unfortunately the technicians were so new to the machine that they had a hard time getting a good profile shot…..plus the baby was in a awkward spot, so that didn’t help. I felt like Rachel from Friends the whole time because I couldn’t see him. Finally after about 20 minutes I managed to scope him out, but it was pretty blurry. He’s roughly 7 pounds 11 ounces so we have a good chance of another big baby. And since I’m still not dilated I don’t see him coming any time soon. I have however, been having some contractions and numerous Braxton hicks, so you never know! Noah has finally caught on or at least is humoring us that he wants to kiss or pat the baby. He’s not the gentle type, so I have to watch him or he’ll try to scratch or poke me. I think I’m ready now which is a big change for me because I was feeling pretty overwhelmed last week. I know it could still be awhile especially if he’s late, but I think if I did go early I wouldn’t be all that panicked.
Well I guess that is all I have for now. Of course if baby does come within the next few days it could be awhile before another post, but if not then hopefully I’ll get another one in there before then.

  • That’s a wrap!

Like I said a few weeks ago, if I didn’t post then it would be after the New Year… and here we are! I hope everyone had not only a lovely New Year, but a wonderful Christmas. We had a blast!! It all kind of kicked off with Damien, Jessica and the kids coming into town the week prior to Christmas and us getting together with them and the kids as much as possible. We did have a bit of some bad weather prior to Christmas which called for really slick roads. We managed to only have one fall (Josh and Noah) and Uncle Joel thought it would be fun (wink, wink) to do a 180 in his truck with 4 wheel drive, but only a few bruises and a sore elbow so no worries. We decided to do our Christmas in a few stages, so by Christmas day we wouldn’t have a massive amount of presents to open and take way too much time. It was a good thing we did because we spent over 2 hours at Pa-pa and Grandma’s house opening stocking stuffers, presents from the family and then again with Josh’s Uncle Doug and his family! Thank you all for the wonderful gifts again! We also spent a good bit of time eating which is always fun and enjoyable. I managed to only put on a little over a pound which was a big surprise because I was not careful in the least!! The rest of the week seemed to fly by after a day of “after Christmas sale shopping” and quick trip over to Champagne, Ill to visit Grandparent’s and then the Lord’s Day and a big win for the Colt’s which was a blowout! Tuesday we loaded up the truck and took off up North to Fort Wayne to celebrate the New Year with Damien and Jessica which was super fun. Once again a lot of eating, visiting, playing the Wii and of course Euchre….and I had a glass of champagne to ring in the New Year too. Friday we took off  after breakfast and got back into town around noon and took down all the Christmas decorations …boo. We also made ourselves a list of things we need to do before the baby arrives, one of which we managed to accomplish was picking out a middle name which we’ve come to an agreement on Jude Owen!! So hopefully these next 3 weeks to go will be filled with little task to accomplish. I’ve definitely felt myself slow way down this past week and with a few small contractions I’m feeling a little anxious for his arrival. Only 19 more days to go!
I’ll leave you with some pictures of our Holiday extravaganza!!!

  • Winter wonderland...

Ok, so now that it has been yet another week or so since I last up dated I figured that I better go ahead and fill you in on what’s been going on in our neck of the woods or it’ll be the new year before I know it!

Noah is now cutting 3 molars… Yikes! He is constantly jibber-jabbering about something. Of course it is all baby talk so we can’t understand most of it, but it is so cute to watch him sit and pretend he’s reading a book. Speaking of books….he loves being read too. I would say besides looking at pictures of family it’s his second favorite thing to do. He’s also coming along, within the past 2 weeks or so, on whom the pictures are of. He of course knows ma-ma and da-da, pa-pa and grandma, nona and pa-paw and his latest favorite is… JOEL! We haven’t mastered the “Uncle” JOEL yet, but I figured we should work on one name at a time. My latest words to work on have been Merry Christmas, but all I get is a blank stare. He also loves to run back and forth from one side of the living room to the other while making his voice shake like uh-uh-uh which always cracks us up. He still doesn’t have a clue as to what we are talking about when I tell him to pat the baby..pointing to my belly or give Jude a kiss, but he’s only 17/18 months so I think once the actually baby comes home and never leaves he’ll come around.

Speaking of baby, I am now 33 weeks along and seem to be doing pretty well. I did have to visit the Cardiologist for a consultation and an EKG last week. I’ve just had some minor heart racing issues that I’m pretty sure have to do with the pregnancy, but my OB thought it best to just be safe and get it checked out. I will also be getting an Echocardiogram done this coming Friday so that they can take a better look at an actual ultrasound of my heart to make sure everything is A-ok. Besides that this pregnancy has been kind of a breeze. I mean the 3rd trimester is always a little bit of a drag at times, but for the most part I really can’t complain. I’ve been rapidly Christmas shopping this season to hopefully get all my “To do list” done before it gets really crazy. Of course it was nice having the extra cash while watching Hunter, but it has been such a blessing it just being Noah and I for the past few weeks in attempting simple little task like making a quick trip to the grocery store to pick up milk or a prescription. Josh and I were also able to go out last Tuesday afternoon (he got off work a little early) drop Noah off at grandma’s and spend the rest of the day shopping and meeting some friends for coffee. Of course we would never have been able to do that if I were still Nanning.

Josh has slowed down quite a bit with window washing business. This past week weather wise has been extremely cold and snowy; which it makes it very difficult to be on a ladder (too windy) or the water freezes before he has a chance to squeegee it off the window! He only has two more weeks of school left before the holidays, so we are somewhat counting the days down.

Well I guess that kind of sums up the past few weeks for us; I do have a few shots to post…so I’ll leave you all with those. Enjoy!

The Colts Santa hat is still a little big, but he liked playing with it while Uncle Joel was here!

And Josh's very proud moment of scoring his 2nd time of a perfect bowling game on the Wii!
